Incentives & Grant Programs

Seagoville is open for business.

The Seagoville Economic Development Corporation is actively working to support business investment, property reinvestment, downtown revitalization, and long-term economic growth. Incentives and grant programs are among the most important tools the SEDC uses to help qualified businesses improve properties, activate commercial spaces, create jobs, and strengthen the local tax base.

These programs are designed to create real value for both businesses and the community. For a small business owner, that may mean support for façade improvements, signage, landscaping, accessibility upgrades, or downtown reinvestment. For a larger project, it may mean a more customized discussion around job creation, capital investment, infrastructure needs, and long-term community benefit.

The SEDC does not treat incentives as one-size-fits-all. Each opportunity is reviewed based on the specific project, the level of private investment, the public benefit, and the requirements of adopted policies and applicable state law. Funding is not automatic, and most programs require formal application, review, approval, and an executed agreement before work begins.

The SEDC can help determine which programs may apply, explain documentation requirements, and guide applicants through the next steps before improvements or investments are underway.

Local Grant Programs

A reimbursement-based program supporting eligible exterior improvements such as:

  • 50% matching structure
  • Maximum grant amount of $25,000
  • Eligible uses include building façades and storefront upgrades, signage, exterior painting, landscaping, parking and paving improvements, and ADA accessibility upgrades

Projects must be approved and an incentive agreement executed before work begins. Reimbursement occurs after project completion and documentation of eligible expenses.

The SEDC Incentive Policy establishes the framework for evaluating larger economic development projects. Considerations may include:

  • Job creation
  • Capital investment
  • Community impact
  • Long-term tax base growth

Incentive agreements are negotiated individually and require formal approval.

Businesses in Seagoville may also qualify for state-administered programs, including:

  • Texas Enterprise Fund
  • Texas Enterprise Zone Program
  • Skills Development Fund
  • Skills for Small Business
  • Manufacturing Readiness Grants

Eligibility and award decisions are determined at the state level.

A Strategic and Accountable Approach

The City and SEDC work collaboratively with qualified projects to develop competitive solutions while protecting long-term community interests. Early coordination is encouraged to clarify eligibility, documentation requirements, and timelines.

Businesses considering investment or expansion are encouraged to review available programs early to understand eligibility, documentation requirements, and timeline

How the SEDC Uses These Resources

The Seagoville Economic Development Corporation serves as a guide through the broader business support ecosystem. Rather than sending businesses to multiple agencies on their own, the SEDC helps identify which resources are most relevant based on the stage, size, and goals of each business.
By coordinating introductions and helping businesses understand where to start, the SEDC simplifies access to reliable guidance and support. This approach allows entrepreneurs and expanding companies to move forward with clarity and confidence, while keeping Seagoville’s local support close and accessible.
